Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Austin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Michael Koko!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin misses with a series of wild punches.
Austin throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Austin tries to bum rush Koko with a series of wild strikes but Koko uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Koko doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Koko has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Koko scores with the left hand. Austin knows he should have avoided that one.
Austin scores with a one two! Koko had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Austin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Koko misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Austin throws a right hand that Koko ducks under and follows up with a left that Koko also avoids with ease.

Austin lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Austin darts in and clinches Koko up against the cage.
Austin has Koko pressed against the cage, preventing Koko from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Austin tries to work over Koko's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Austin can't find room to land a body shot as Koko controls the action.
Austin swings wildly with an uppercut but Koko uses good head movement to avoid it.
Koko blocking some punches.

Koko breaks from the clinch.
Austin fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Koko manages to avoid it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Austin tries to clinch up but Koko circles away and keeps his distance.
Austin checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Austin defending well as Koko loads up on a big left hand.
No joy there for Austin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Austin misses with a two punch combination.

Nice straight punches there by Koko. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Koko.
Austin falls off balance throwing a combination

and Koko counters with a nice right hand that sends Austin toppling to the canvas! Austin scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Koko finish him?!

Austin moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Austin tries to clinch up but Koko circles away and keeps his distance.

Still in the clinch, Austin scores with a nice short uppercut.
Austin keeps control of Koko as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Austin tries to circle away but Koko has him pinned against the cage.

Austin is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Austin misses with a punch to the body.

Austin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Koko slips a jab and a cross from Austin.
Austin tries to clinch but Koko moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Koko! But no joy.

Austin rushes Koko and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Austin misses with a short punch on the inside.
Austin prevents Koko from breaking the clinch.

Austin breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Austin lands a body shot.

Austin has Koko up against the cage in a clinch.
Austin can't find room to land a body shot as Koko controls the action.

Our sources have told us that Austin has been working on his elbows in the gym.
Koko dodges an elbow strike from Austin.
Austin swings wildly with an uppercut but Koko uses good head movement to avoid it.

Austin breaks from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Austin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Koko is looking to chop away at Austin's legs.
Austin throws a body punch but Koko moves out of range.
Koko tries a quick counter leg kick but Austin is wise to it.
No joy there for Austin, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A combination from Austin does no damage.
Koko throws a wild body kick that Austin sees coming a mile off.

Koko cracks Austin with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Koko has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Austin to stand back up!
Oh Austin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Austin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Koko paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Austin seems to have got his legs back now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Austin moves to clinch but Koko breaks away
and Koko scores with a counter punch that sends Austin to the canvas! Koko smells blood - he's punishing Austin with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Austin has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Koko! Michael Koko retains his light heavyweight title!
During a confident post fight interview, Michael Koko thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
