Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Polk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Herritt!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herritt slips under a jab.
Polk throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Herritt tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Polk paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Herritt takes the fight into the clinch.
Herritt tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Polk smiles and moves away.
Herritt slips under a jab from Polk.
Polk throws a hook but Herritt blocks it.
Polk avoids the head kick by Herritt.
Polk throws out a leg kick but Herritt moves out of range and Polk only half commits.
Polk throws a right hand that Herritt ducks under and follows up with a left that Herritt also avoids with ease.

Herritt darts in and clinches Polk up against the cage.
Polk gets underhooks to prevent Herritt's takedown attempt.
Polk tries to break the clinch but Herritt is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Polk stops a takedown attempt from Herritt.
James Polk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Herritt.
Polk gets underhooks to prevent Herritt's takedown attempt.

Herritt breaks from the clinch.
Herritt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Polk looks to score with a jab to the body but Herritt is just out of range.
James Polk is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Polk thuds a left hand into Herritt's body.
Polk scores with a jab.
Herritt looks gassed!
Polk drops Herritt with a big left hand and mounts him. Herritt is in big trouble!


Herritt is rocked!


It looks like Ryan Herritt has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Polk works his way to his opponent's back.
Herritt can't escape the position.
Polk avoiding Herritt 's attempts to control his hands.
What can Herritt do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Herritt is trying to break free.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Polk slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Polk's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Herritt tries to escape but Polk has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Polk controlling from the back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Polk has Herritt flattened out and is raining down punches.
Herritt is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The referee stands the fighters back up. James Polk just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Herritt takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Polk lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Herritt avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Polk throws a left that rocks Herritt and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Polk dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Herritt regain composure!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Polk stands up and beckons Herritt to his feet.
Polk stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Polk misses with a straight left.
Polk throws a right and a left that both miss.
Herritt moves out of range as Polk strikes.

Herritt shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Herritt trying to control the position from guard on top but Polk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Herritt throws a big right hand that misses.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Polk has control of Herritt's left arm, preventing Herritt from doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Polk dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Ryan Herritt's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Herritt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Polk connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Herritt momentarily.
Polk throws a hook but Herritt blocks it.
Polk clobbers Herritt with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Herritt is still on wobbly legs! Can Polk finish him?
Polk drops Herritt with a huge uppercut! Herritt drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Polk is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). James Polk!
