Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Andropov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexei Markovic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yuri Andropov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alexei Markovic!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Markovic rushes Andropov and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Markovic using the Thai clinch to land knees to the body.
Andropov has had enough of the clinch but Markovic keeps him there for the moment.
Markovic gets through Andropov's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Markovic fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Markovic connects with a nasty looking knee right to Andropov's face.
A frustrated look appears on Andropov's face as he tries to break the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Markovic takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Andropov tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Markovic thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Markovic feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Markovic is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Markovic has hold of one of Andropov's legs. Andropov is fighting the takedown attempt but Markovic gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Alexei Markovic showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Markovic shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Andropov's guard.
