Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Johnny Silver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Artem Soikov!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Donald Grub and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silver cracks a nice hook into Soikov's ribs.
Silver with a jab.
Soikov ducks right into an uppercut from Silver.
We've been told by Silver's head coaches at Gorilla Warfare MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Silver feints a jab promting Soikov to slip. Silver then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Soikov slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Silver throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Soikov on the side of the head.
Soikov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Silver lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silver's jab looks to have found its range, popping Soikov under the eye.
Soikov takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Soikov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Silver cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Soikov on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Silver throws out a powerful jab.
Silver throws a right and a left that Soikov avoids nicely.
Soikov with the counter takedown but Silver avoids it easily.
Silver works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Silver scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Soikov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Silver counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Soikov swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Silver counters with a nice uppercut.
Soikov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Left hook, right uppercut from Silver.
Silver scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Soikov is rocked!
Silver cracks Soikov with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Soikov is still on wobbly legs! Can Silver finish him?
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silver cracks Soikov with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Soikov tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Silver pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Soikov is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Silver!
In his post fight interview, Johnny Silver started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
