Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marshal Erickson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mick Lagg!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lagg stuffs the takedown attempt from Erickson. Erickson gets slowly back to his feet.
Erickson shoots in for a double leg but Lagg sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Erickson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lagg.
Lagg throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Erickson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Lagg tries to land a front kick but Erickson steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Erickson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lagg pinned against the cage. Lagg gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marshal Erickson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Lagg misses the shot to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lagg stuffs the takedown attempt from Erickson. Erickson gets slowly back to his feet.
Lagg throws a right and a left that both miss.

Erickson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Lagg misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mick Lagg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lagg tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Erickson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lagg throws a right hand that Erickson ducks under and follows up with a left that Erickson also avoids with ease.
A punch combination from Lagg misses.
No luck for Erickson with that takedown attempt.
Lagg throws a right and a left that Erickson avoids nicely.
Lagg rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Erickson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A combination from Lagg does no damage.
Lagg does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Lagg throws a series of punches but Erickson moves out of range.
Lagg swinging wilding here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Lagg misses with a series of wild punches.
Erickson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Erickson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lagg.

Erickson closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lagg to the mat! Lagg manages to get full guard.
Erickson is pushing down on Lagg's leg trying to pass to half guard. Lagg is fighting to maintain full guard but Erickson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Erickson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Lagg wants to get back to his feet.
Lagg looks gassed!
Erickson passes to side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lagg pushes Erickson away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Erickson gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Erickson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Lagg's legs.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Erickson shoots in and drives through. Lagg sprawls well.

Nice takedown defense from Lagg. No joy for Erickson on that attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Lagg is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Erickson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Erickson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lagg wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Erickson manages to pass to side control.
Erickson sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Erickson is looking to take a break and control but Lagg is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Erickson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lagg defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marshal Erickson dominated that round.
That's time! Erickson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Lagg looks to land a combination but Erickson avoids it well.
Lagg misses with a straight left.
Lagg throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Erickson.
Lagg swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Lagg is breathing heavily.
Erickson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lagg is fending him off so far but Erickson persists. Nope, Lagg circles away and we're back to standing.
Erickson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Lagg will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Erickson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lagg looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lagg is pushing Erickson's head away, looking to escape. Erickson manages to hold on to the position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Erickson has hold of Lagg's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Lagg seems comfortable defending it but Erickson has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Lagg is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Lagg is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Erickson couldn't care less - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Marshal Erickson!
