Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ramon Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ellis Empire!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Chris Dean and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson shoots for a takedown but Empire saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Empire. Jackson shrugs it off though.
Empire thuds his shin into the meat of Jackson's side.
Empire moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
A thudding body kick lands there by Empire!
Empire lands a nice looking body kick.
Empire throws a front kick that sends Jackson stumbling back into the cage.
A slapping body kick lands there for Empire.
Empire lands with a kick to the ribs.
Empire lands a nice looking kick to the body. Jackson takes a step back to recover.
Jackson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Empire fakes the leg kick and cracks Jackson in the body.
Empire explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Empire scores with a kick to the midsection.
A slapping body kick lands there for Empire.

Empire thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jackson if he has to take too many more of those.
Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Empire on that attempt.
Empire misses with a takedown attempt
and Jackson counters with a three punch combo that has Empire backing up. Empire nods at Jackson to acknowledge the strikes.
A slapping body kick lands there for Empire.
Empire lands a nice looking kick to the body. Jackson takes a step back to recover.
Crunch! Empire slams his shin into Jackson's torso.
Empire throws a front kick that sends Jackson stumbling back into the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jackson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Jackson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Empire delivers a nice body kick.
Jackson will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Empire looks winded!
Empire moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Empire has Jackson up against the cage in a clinch.

Jackson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jackson dives in for a single leg takedown but Empire sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Jackson moves out of range of the body kick.
Jackson swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Empire - that will leave a mark!
Jackson steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Empire. That one must have hurt.
Empire plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Empire.

Empire throws a push kick but Jackson slaps the foot to one side.
Empire looking to land some kicks to the body here.
A solid body kick from Empire.
Empire throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
It looked like Jackson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Empire looks for the body kick but Jackson saw that one coming.
Jackson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Ellis Empire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jackson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Empire did well to prevent Jackson getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jackson is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Empire has managed to free his arm - good work.
Jackson not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Jackson lands with a punch from half guard.
Jackson is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Jackson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Empire's head.

Jackson decides to stand and escape the position.

Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ellis Empire dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

and Jackson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Ellis Empire seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Empire looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Jackson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Jackson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Empire.

Empire gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Jackson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Empire thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Jackson if he has to take too many more of those.
Ramon Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jackson sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Empire bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Empire thows a body kick. Jackson tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Empire is breathing heavily.

Empire fails with a takedown attempt.
Jackson appears to be looking for a big counter.
Empire throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Jackson's waist but Jackson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Empire off to one side.
Jackson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Empire pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Jackson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jackson is looking for a kimura but Empire is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jackson to get the leverage.
Jackson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jackson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Empire is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ramon Jackson!
