Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Black Coleman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyler Durden! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Alan Glass and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Coleman stuffs the takedown attempt from Durden. Durden gets slowly back to his feet. Durden fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Coleman bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Durden is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Coleman has just dragged him back down to the mat. A lull in the action here. Durden is looking to reverse the position. Coleman lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Durden is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Coleman looks up at the clock and then as Durden takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Coleman smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Coleman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Durden down.
Coleman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coleman is putting a hurting on Durden here, landing some big shots from side control.
Durden is rocked! A lull in the action here. Coleman trying to control the position but Durden is working away. Coleman works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head. Durden is still in real trouble! Can Coleman finish him? Coleman taking a breather here. Durden seems to have recovered his senses. Coleman is putting a hurting on Durden here, landing some big shots from side control. Durden is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Durden is trying to improve his position. Coleman in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Durden looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Coleman turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Black Coleman! Black Coleman was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
