Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Sang Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Spencer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sang Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Spencer!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns avoids a punch combination nicely.
Spencer fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Burns looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Burns lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Burns keeps control of Spencer as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Spencer will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Spencer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Burns moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Spencer has closed the distance and engaged Burns in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burns's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Spencer gets caught flat footed, as Burns shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Burns gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

A shot to the liver by Spencer. Beautiful body shot.

Spencer tries to keep at a distance but Burns has taken the fight into the clinch.
Spencer looks to throw an elbow but misses.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Burns creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Burns has Spencer pressed against the cage.
Burns lands an elbow inside that Spencer shrugs off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Spencer tries to circle away but Burns has him pinned against the cage.

The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Burns tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Spencer smiles and moves away.

Spencer stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Spencer wants it to stay on the feet.

Mark Spencer showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Spencer blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Spencer has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sang Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Spencer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Burns circles away quickly and effectively.

Burns gets tackled into the cage by Spencer. Spencer maintains the clinch.
Spencer creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Burns's defenses.

Burns jumps guard and drags Spencer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Burns will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Burns is pulling down on Spencer's head to control his posture.
Burns thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Spencer is fighting to break Burns's control of his arms but Burns is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burns lands an upkick as Spencer stands over him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Burns shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Spencer defends it nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Spencer tries to bum rush Burns with a series of wild strikes but Burns uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Burns fails with a takedown attempt.
Burns ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Burns changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Spencer feints a jab promting Burns to slip. Spencer then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Burns slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Burns closes the distance and clinches up with Spencer, looking for a takedown. Burns pushes Spencer against the cage but Spencer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Spencer lands a nice hook to Burns's body. Burns takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Spencer throws a looping overhand right but Burns ducks down to avoid it.
Burns drops down looking for a counter takedown but Spencer sprawls and moves away.
Spencer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Burns.

Spencer moves into the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Spencer takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Spencer tries to throw a body punch but Burns avoids it by throwing Spencer back against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mark Spencer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Spencer winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
