Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyler Durden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Opihi Jimmy! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jimmy dodges the punch combination from Durden.
Jimmy tries to clinch there but Durden circles away.
Jimmy tries to land a front kick but Durden steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Nice sprawl there from Durden as Jimmy shoots in. Tyler Durden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jimmy throws a low kick but Durden avoids it. Durden misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jab, jab by Jimmy - just one landing. Some wild striking there from Durden.
Durden throws a right hand that Jimmy ducks under and follows up with a left that Jimmy also avoids with ease. Durden tries to clinch there but Jimmy circles away.
Jimmy looks to clinch and Durden counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. Jimmy throws a series of strikes that have Durden backpedaling.
Jimmy looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Jimmy throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Durden gets a clinch. Jimmy keeps control of Durden as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Durden has had enough of the clinch but Jimmy keeps him there for the moment. Jimmy throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Jimmy is trying to stall.
Durden can't break the clinch.
Durden breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jimmy lands a two punch combo.
Durden walks into a jab. Durden throws a right and a left that both miss. Durden tries to move into range but Jimmy moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Durden looks to clinch and Jimmy counters with a slapping leg kick. Durden throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Jimmy misses with a takedown attempt - Durden sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Durden takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Some wild striking there from Durden.
Jimmy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Durden pinned against the cage. Durden gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Tyler Durden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Opihi Jimmy. Durden throws a head kick that misses. Jimmy stuffs the takedown. Durden is breathing heavily. Jimmy closes the distance and clinches. Durden tries to break the clinch but Jimmy is controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jimmy has Durden pushed against the cage. Jimmy is fighting off a takedown attempt but Durden is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Jimmy to the mat. Jimmy regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Jimmy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Durden keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jimmy's head. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Durden wants to stand but Jimmy is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Jimmy holds on and takes a little breather. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Durden throws a strike but Jimmy rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Durden will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Jimmy won't allow Durden to sweep him here. Jimmy showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Durden manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Jimmy is trying desperately to improve position. Durden trying to control but Jimmy is having none of it. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Jimmy working to try and regain half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Opihi Jimmy will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Jimmy tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Durden moves into the clinch. Durden can't break the clinch.
Durden is working for takedown but Jimmy is calmly controlling the position for now. Durden pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Jimmy lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Durden throws a push kick but Jimmy slaps the foot to one side. Jimmy lands with a cross. Durden tries to bum rush Jimmy with a series of wild strikes but Jimmy uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A chopping leg kick lands by Durden. Durden's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Durden duly obliges.
It looks like Opihi Jimmy has been cut. Jimmy has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Durden takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Durden tries to clinch but Jimmy moves out of range. Durden stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jimmy. Durden shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jimmy but Jimmy pushes him off and we're back to square one. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jimmy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Durden stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jimmy. Both fighters circling a little - Jimmy finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Nice sprawl there from Durden as Jimmy shoots in. Durden throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jimmy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Jimmy tries for a takedown but Durden sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Tyler Durden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Opihi Jimmy. Durden looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Nice takedown defense from Durden. No joy for Jimmy on that attempt. Durden moves into range and lands a nice leg kick. Jimmy digs a good hook to Durden's body.
Durden tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Jimmy counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Durden tries a head kick but it misses.
Tyler Durden is winning the standup battle so far. Jimmy misses with a kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jimmy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Durden tries to avoid it but Jimmy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Durden to the ground. Durden escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Jimmy should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jimmy lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Durden has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Durden and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Durden throws a right and a left that Jimmy avoids nicely. Durden throws a body kick the misses and Jimmy counters with a right hand to the body. Durden bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jimmy checks a leg kick. Jimmy looks to land a combination. Durden sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jimmy lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Durden has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Durden and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Durden throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Jimmy counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Durden has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jimmy is working away from the top position though. Jimmy is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Durden wants to get back to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jimmy stands up from half guard. Durden throws a push kick but Jimmy slaps the foot to one side. Jimmy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Durden's waist but Durden gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jimmy off to one side. Durden closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Durden lands in his opponent's guard. Jimmy pushes Durden off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Durden rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jimmy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jimmy stuns Durden with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Jimmy scores with a nice body kick.
Jimmy shoots in but Durden avoids the takedown attempt easily. Durden instigates a clinch. Durden can't get the takedown.
Durden escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Durden takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jimmy throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Durden's head. Jimmy with a body punch. A glancing blow. Jimmy connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Jimmy paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Durden closes the distance looking to clinch and Jimmy counters by moving into the clinch. Jimmy throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Durden blocks it with crossed arms. Durden pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Opihi Jimmy will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Opihi Jimmy's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Durden throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Durden walks into a straight right hand from Jimmy. Jimmy is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Jimmy with a nice cross. Durden walks into a jab. Jimmy moves out of range of the strikes. Durden looks to land a combination but Jimmy avoids it well. Tyler Durden is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Jimmy gets off balance looking for a body kick and Durden counters with a nice double leg into guard. Jimmy pulls Durden in close to his closed guard and prevents Durden from doing any damage or advancing position. Jimmy looking to control.
Durden has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Jimmy is proving hard to escape from. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Durden loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Durden wants to stand but Jimmy is controlling his posture from full guard. Durden stopping the sweep attempt from Jimmy. Jimmy pulls Durden in close to his closed guard and prevents Durden from doing any damage or advancing position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Durden wants to control from the top but Jimmy keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Some wild striking there from Jimmy.

Durden forces Jimmy back against the cage and clinches. Nice elbow from Durden. Durden is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Durden escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Nice body kick from Jimmy. Durden goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Jimmy lands a front kick. Durden lands a jab-cross combination. Durden throws a head kick that misses. Durden misses with a head kick.
Jimmy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Durden pinned against the cage. Durden gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Durden keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Durden tries to clinch up. Jimmy connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Durden momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Durden takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. No luck for Jimmy with that takedown attempt. Durden tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jimmy swivels and escapes. Jimmy moves out of range of the body kick from Durden.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Jimmy. Durden throws a right and a left that both miss. Tyler Durden has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Jimmy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Durden as he jumps to the side. Jimmy will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Jimmy closes the distance and clinches up with Durden, looking for a takedown. Jimmy pushes Durden against the cage but Durden circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Durden moves in looking to clinch but Jimmy pushes him off. Opihi Jimmy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Durden instigates a clinch. Jimmy ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Jimmy no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Jimmy trying to keep a closed guard but Durden is proving a slippery customer.
And that's the end of the fight! Tyler Durden showed his dominance in that final round. I think Jimmy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
