PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Under Dog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Furlotte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Under Dog has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Under Dog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Furlotte!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dog drives through and clinches with Furlotte against the cage.
Dog is pushing Furlotte up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Dog wants a takedown.
Dog lands a body punch in the clinch.

Dog breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dog forces Furlotte back against the cage and clinches.

Dog pulls Furlotte into guard.
Furlotte working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Dog has a closed guard, preventing Furlotte from standing up.
Furlotte trying to control the position from guard on top but Dog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Furlotte won't allow Dog to sweep him here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dog holds on and takes a little breather.
Dog is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Furlotte pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dog is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dog is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Furlotte.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dog is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dog fails with the takedown

and Furlotte decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dog's guard.
Furlotte prevents Dog from getting back to his feet.
Furlotte trying to control but Dog is working from the bottom.

Dog is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dog will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Furlotte scoring with some ground and pound.
Dog keeping moving, preventing Furlotte from controlling successfully.
Dog has his hands on Furlotte's head, controlling the position.
Dog wants to sweep but no luck.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Furlotte trying to control but Dog is working from the bottom.
Furlotte wanted to stand there but Dog had control of the position.
Dog being controlled here, momentarily.
Dog really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Furlotte tries to free his leg and advance position but Dog is retaining full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Kevin Furlotte will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Dog shoots in for a double leg but Furlotte sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Furlotte pushes Dog off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
A jab from Dog does it's job there.
Dog scores with a three punch combo!

Furlotte shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Furlotte is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Furlotte looking to sit in guard and control but Dog gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Dog trying to control the position from guard on top but Furlotte is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Dog lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dog not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Dog slips nicely into half guard.
Furlotte is trying to get back to full guard.
Furlotte trying to control from the bottom.
Dog sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Furlotte defending well though.

Dog looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Well, if Dog is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Furlotte is looking for a sweep. Dog is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Furlotte is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Dog is tapping! Great win for Furlotte!
