Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nicolas Walters!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rick Ismael !
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walters shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Ismael defends it nicely.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Walters is defended easily by Ismael .

Ismael closes the distance and clinches.

Walters jumps guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walters is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Ismael slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Ismael trying to control the position from guard on top but Walters is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Walters has a closed guard, preventing Ismael from standing up.
Ismael wants to control from the top but Walters keeps moving.
Ismael sitting in guard here, content to control.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Walters shoots for a takedown but Ismael saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nicolas Walters. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Walters shoots for a double leg takedown but Ismael sprawls well. He's pushed Walters's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ismael slaps away a takedown attempt from Walters, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ismael feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ismael is looking to stand up but Walters won't let him.

Walters is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Ismael is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ismael takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Ismael looking to control but Walters is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Walters defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Ismael .
Walters is in all sorts of trouble here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Rick Ismael dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Ismael slaps away a takedown attempt from Walters, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Walters changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ismael tries to avoid it but Walters manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ismael to the ground. Ismael escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nicolas Walters. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ismael keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A countering left hand to the body from Ismael misses.
Walters misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Ismael stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ismael wants it to stay on the feet.
Nicolas Walters is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Ismael shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Walters on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Walters definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ismael slips a nice elbow through Walters's hands, connecting with Walters's forehead.

Ismael is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ismael is stalling here. Walters is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ismael seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Walters has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Ismael won't allow Walters to pass to mount.
Ismael looks like he's trying to stand up.

Walters is looking for a kimura but Ismael is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Walters to get the leverage.

Walters is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ismael has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Walters is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Walters is pressing down on Ismael 's thigh, looking to free his foot. Ismael is holding on for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Ismael tries to get to full guard but Walters has control of the leg.

Walters is working for a submission of some sort.
Ismael tries to roll over but Walters keeps him under control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rick Ismael showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Walters is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Ismael preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walters is thwarting Ismael 's attempts to control the position.

Walters is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ismael is just riding it out for now. Walters eventually gives up the hold.

Ismael really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Walters. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ismael keeping moving, preventing Walters from controlling successfully.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ismael manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Walters on his heels. He'll look to pass Walters's guard now, I'm sure.

Walters has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ismael can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Ismael is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ismael is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Walters looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Ismael slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Walters tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ismael defends well and Walters ends up having to push Ismael into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Ismael counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Walters!

And that's the end of the fight!
Rick Ismael comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ismael has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
