Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luis Combs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sven Feddersen! The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A lazy body kick from Feddersen and Combs holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Combs is trying to break the clinch but Feddersen has him pressed against the cage. Combs breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Feddersen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Feddersen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Feddersen shoots in for a double leg but Combs sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Feddersen looks winded! Combs tries to clinch there but Feddersen circles away.
Feddersen avoids the head kick by Combs.
Feddersen shoots in for a takedown but Combs shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Combs pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Despite the aggression on Feddersen's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Feddersen circles away from the clinch attempt.
Feddersen unleashes a big counter combination but Combs bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Feddersen tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Combs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Feddersen keeps the fight on the outside. Feddersen lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Combs looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Combs closes the distance but Feddersen moves to the side and Feddersen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Combs's guard. Combs could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Combs has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Feddersen is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Combs has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Feddersen is looking to defend but Combs has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Feddersen! Combs pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Feddersen taps out and this one is all over!
