The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hallman gets a takedown into half guard.

Hallman is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hallman slows the pace down in half guard.
Stuart is looking to escape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Stuart is staying active underneath Hallman, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Stuart really is a fat lump.
Hallman looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Hallman takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Hallman is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stuart is just riding it out for now. Hallman eventually gives up the hold.

Stuart wants to get back to his feet.
Stuart is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Stuart is trying to maintain the position but Hallman is very close to passing his half guard.

Stuart is defending against the submission attempts here by Hallman.

Stuart with the active half guard here but Hallman passes nicely into side control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Hallman throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Hallman controls the position.
Stuart wants to get back to his feet but Hallman drags him back down.
Stuart is looking to reverse the position.
Hallman trying to control the position but Stuart is working away.

Stuart is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Hallman is controlling him well.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Stuart closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Stuart lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Hallman backwards.

Hallman has clasped his hands together around Stuart's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Hallman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hallman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Stuart tries to improve position but can't.

Hallman has hold of Stuart's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Stuart seems comfortable defending it but Hallman has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Stuart is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Stuart is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hallman couldn't care less - he's delighted!
