Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Maurice Smith!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a takedown attempt
and Bush counters with a good low kick that Smith was not able to check.
Smith takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Smith checks a leg kick.
Bush buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Smith shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Smith is pressing down on Bush's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bush is holding on for now.
Bush has hold of Smith's hands but Smith slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Bush defending well though.
Bush pushes Smith off looking to stand but Smith dives back in and keeps control.
Smith seems to be working for a kimura but Bush defends the submission attempt.

Smith missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Smith is looking to advance position but Bush won't allow it.
Smith thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bush's head.
Smith is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bush is just riding it out for now. Smith eventually gives up the hold.
Smith is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Bush reverses the position - he's now on top in Smith's guard.

Smith is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bush won't allow Smith to sweep him here.
Smith has his foot on Bush's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bush works his way back into a safe position though.

Bush got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smith has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Bush has managed to get both his arms back between Smith's legs - danger averted.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bush dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bush moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bush misses with a double jab.

Nice straight punches there by Bush. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Bush.
Smith gets a double leg takedown into Bush's guard.

Smith throws a big right hand that misses.
Smith is looking to pass into half guard but Bush pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bush is in guard.
Smith has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bush doesn't defend quickly enough and Smith has managed to lock this one up! Can Bush escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Smith on a fantastic submission victory.
