Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Duncan Jon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sheldon Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Duncan Jon has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duncan Jon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
19 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sheldon Cooper! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Chris Saunders and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jon leaves Cooper with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Cooper clinches up with Jon and pushes him back against the cage. Jon stops a takedown attempt from Cooper.
Cooper changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Jon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Duncan Jon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sheldon Cooper. Jon defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cooper. An attempted straight right counter from Jon misses the target. Cooper takes a shot right to the bread basket. Cooper dodges the punch combination from Jon.
Jon pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Cooper is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Jon throws a series of punches but Cooper moves out of range. Cooper avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cooper drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Jon defends it well. Jon just misses with a punch to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big left from Jon misses. Jon throws a left and a right that both miss
and Cooper counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jon won't be happy with that. This has been an exciting period of action! Jon pushes Cooper away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cooper gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Cooper tries for a kimura but Jon is defending well. Cooper tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cooper has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Jon stops Cooper from passing to mount. Jon is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Abobomination Training $700 13 LEGIT elite coaches that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Cooper tries for a kimura but Jon is defending well. Jon wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cooper trying to control the position but Jon is working away. Jon is trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jon is not content to let Cooper control the position. Cooper controlling from side mount. Jon pushes Cooper away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Cooper gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Cooper staying calm. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Cooper looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Jon is trying to buck Cooper off. Cooper wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Jon, who protects the arm well. Jon wants to get back to his feet but Cooper drags him back down. Cooper trying to control the position but Jon is working away.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Cooper dives in and grabs Jon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jon pushes down on Cooper's head and hops out. Jon was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Cooper fails with a takedown attempt. Duncan Jon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Jab, jab by Jon - just one landing. Jon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cooper. Jon misses with a hook. Duncan Jon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Cooper wants to clinch. Cooper tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Jon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Cooper doesn't succeed with the takedown and Jon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Cooper dives in and grabs Jon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jon pushes down on Cooper's head and hops out. Jon changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Duncan Jon will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Jon lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Cooper doesn't manage to clinch there - Jon circles away.

and Cooper counters with a nice double leg into guard. Jon wants to get back to his feet but Cooper is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Cooper passes into half guard. Jon is refusing to be controlled, as Cooper sits in half guard. Cooper stops Jon from getting back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Cooper is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Cooper looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Jon trying desperately to get to his feet.
Cooper looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Cooper working for a submission but Jon is keeping him at bay. Cooper working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Jon looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Cooper! Submission of the night perhaps?
