The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcon clinches up against the cage.
Garcon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dodson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Dodson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Garcon as he avoids it easily.

Garcon tightens his grip and picks Dodson up, before dumping him to the ground. Dodson manages to land in guard.

Garcon throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dodson.

Garcon ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Garcon no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Garcon tries to get to full guard but Dodson has control of the leg.

Garcon has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Dodson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Garcon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dodson somewhat.

Garcon works to advance to full mount. Dodson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Garcon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Garcon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Dodson for as long as he can get away with.
