Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dirk Diggler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ahwal Mahtulak!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diggler misses with a takedown attempt - Mahtulak sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Mahtulak gets a takedown into half guard.
Diggler is pressing down on Mahtulak's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Diggler wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Diggler stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mahtulak swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Diggler seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Diggler fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Mahtulak is out of range.

Mahtulak closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mahtulak lands in his opponent's guard.

Mahtulak postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Diggler is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mahtulak, into his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Diggler wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mahtulak keeps working.

Mahtulak shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Diggler pinned against the cage. Diggler gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Diggler throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Diggler has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mahtulak is working away from the top position though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Diggler, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
