Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Reggie Aguirre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joe Brown has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Reggie Aguirre's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Reggie Aguirre!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joe Brown!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown feints and as Aguirre raises his hands in defense, Brown changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Brown wants to get up but he can't break Aguirre's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Brown is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Aguirre really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Brown is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Aguirre will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Aguirre bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brown's guard.


Aguirre drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Aguirre jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Brown shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Aguirre is positioning himself well to prevent Brown advancing to mount.
Aguirre moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Aguirre bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brown's guard.

Aguirre is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Brown doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Aguirre.

Aguirre is working for a submission of some sort.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Aguirre is working for a kimura but Brown is defending it quite comfortably.
Brown tries to roll over but Aguirre keeps him under control.

That was a close round but I would say that Reggie Aguirre will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Brown drives through with a takedown into Aguirre's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Brown is fighting to break Aguirre's control of his arms but Aguirre is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Aguirre misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Aguirre shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Brown is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Aguirre is looking for a kimura but Brown is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Aguirre to get the leverage.

Aguirre is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Brown defends it well.
Brown is looking to control Aguirre's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Brown avoid being mounted?

Brown is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Aguirre jumps into side control!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Brown fails with an attempt to clinch.
Aguirre is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Brown.

Brown shoots in and bounces Aguirre off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Aguirre is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Aguirre wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Aguirre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Joe Brown comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Aguirre has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
