Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Glass (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aritz Vinals (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Freddie Glass! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Aritz Vinals! The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vinals is looking to clinch. Glass appears to be looking for a counter takedown. Vinals tries to clinch up and Glass counters with a left and a right that stings Vinals. Vinals clinches. Vinals pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Glass tries to keep at a distance but Vinals has taken the fight into the clinch. Vinals breaks from the clinch.

Glass really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Glass tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Vinals slows down the pace here.
Glass takes a knee to the side of the body. Glass fails to pull the fight into his guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vinals landing knees to the body.
Vinals tries to stall but Glass uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Vinals has Glass pushed against the cage. Vinals lands a knee to the head.
Vinals prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Freddie Glass. That's going to take a lot out of him. Vinals drags the fight down to the ground.
Glass slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Glass wants to control from the top but Vinals keeps moving. Glass is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Glass looking to sit in guard and control but Vinals gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Glass keeping moving, preventing Vinals from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vinals throwing strikes from guard but Glass blocks nicely. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Vinals is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Glass is on top in guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Glass's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Glass will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Glass controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Vinals keeping moving, preventing Glass from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Glass pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Vinals is keeping the position for now. Vinals is trying to keep Glass in close.
Glass trying to control the position from guard on top but Vinals is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Glass is stalling in the full guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Glass tries to stand but Vinals is controlling from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aritz Vinals dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Glass gets caught flat footed, as Vinals shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Vinals controls from within his opponent's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Glass is trying to control the position from the bottom.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Glass holds on and takes a little breather. Glass trying to keep a closed guard but Vinals is proving a slippery customer.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Glass is really struggling to control Vinals but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Glass has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Glass fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vinals avoids it really well and circles away. Glass fails to land the takedown. Vinals is looking to clinch but Glass is avoiding it.
Glass pushes Vinals up against the cage in a clinch. Vinals escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vinals throws a head kick that misses and Glass counters by clinching up. Vinals has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vinals breaks from the clinch.
Vinals closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Glass gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Glass blocking the ground and pound attempt from Vinals. Vinals is looking to take a break and control but Glass is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Glass trying to control but Vinals postures up.
Vinals wants to pass to mount but Glass is defending the position. Vinals missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Glass tries to get to full guard but Vinals has control of the leg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vinals content to control rather than advance. Glass is refusing to be controlled, as Vinals sits in half guard. Glass is trying to control but can't.
Aritz Vinals has got the better of the ground game so far. Glass flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Freddie Glass is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Vinals tries to clinch there but Glass circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Glass. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Freddie Glass. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Vinals throws a sloppy head kick and Glass moves out of range easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Vinals moves into the clinch. Vinals tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Glass's elbow. Vinals effectively controlling the action here. Vinals escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Vinals pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Nice takedown defense from Vinals. No joy for Glass on that attempt. Vinals wants to clinch up but Glass keeps it at a distance. Glass throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Vinals is looking to clinch but Glass is avoiding it.

Vinals changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Glass looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aritz Vinals showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Vinals shapes to counter with a head kick. Vinals moves in looking to clinch but Glass pushes him off. Glass appears to be looking for a big counter. Vinals closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Glass did well to prevent Vinals getting side control. Vinals not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Glass is not content to let Vinals control the position. Glass is looking to control Vinals's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Glass avoid being mounted? Glass avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Vinals. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Vinals perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Vinals is looking to take a break and control but Glass is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Vinals is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Aritz Vinals seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Vinals drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vinals takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Glass can't do much from the bottom here. Vinals wants to lay and pray for a moment but Glass keeps working.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Vinals looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Glass is avoiding damage well.
Vinals wants to stand but Glass is controlling his arm. Glass wants to control but Vinals postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Glass looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Vinals is fending him off so far but Glass persists. Nope, Vinals circles away and we're back to standing. Vinals is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Glass's half guard. Glass is not content to let Vinals control the position. Vinals is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Glass has managed to free his arm - good work. Vinals thows a huge punch but Glass dodges it nicely.
Vinals is thwarting Glass's attempts to control the position. Vinals is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Vinals seems content to control. Glass controlling the position for now. Vinals takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Vinals tries to close the distance and clinch but Glass swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vinals drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Glass sneaks back into half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Glass wants to control but Vinals is keeping busy and won't allow it.
And that's the end of the fight! Aritz Vinals comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Vinals has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
