Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryan Brooks !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Esquiva Falcao!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Falcao misses.
Brooks tries to counter with a takedown but Falcao is quick to defend against it.
Falcao lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Falcao scores with a jab to the head.

and Brooks counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Falcao!
Falcao tries to get back to half guard but can't.
We've been hearing good reports from Brooks 's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Brooks is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Falcao has escaped the position, nice work there.

Brooks looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Brooks thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Brooks goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Falcao rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Brooks 's guard! Nice work there by Falcao!

Falcao postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Brooks is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Falcao, into his guard.


The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brooks drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Brooks jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Falcao is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Brooks is aware though and is defending well.

Brooks thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Brooks drops back looking for a leg! Falcao is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Falcao manages to kick Brooks off! Brooks jumps back into Falcao's guard.

Falcao is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Brooks asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Brooks tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brooks has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Falcao regains half guard.

Brooks is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Falcao is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Brooks pulls his head out easily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Brooks looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Falcao cracks Brooks with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Brooks has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Brooks there as he acknowledges the shot.
Brooks takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Esquiva Falcao seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Falcao connects with a body shot that sends Brooks 's belly button to the back.
Falcao lands a nice looking body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Falcao stuns Brooks with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Brooks is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Falcao scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Brooks gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Falcao.
Falcao lands a nice hook to Brooks 's body. Brooks takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Brooks moves forwards but Falcao connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Brooks dives in and grabs Falcao's left leg, looking for a takedown. Falcao pushes down on Brooks 's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Brooks . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Falcao ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Brooks shoots in for a takedown but Falcao shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Brooks is rocked!
Brooks needs to keep his hands up - Falcao had a free shot at his head there.
Oh Brooks is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Brooks 's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Falcao connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Brooks scrambles back to his feet.
Brooks seems to have got his legs back now.

Brooks shoots in and gets a takedown into Falcao's guard.

Brooks is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Falcao controls Brooks momentarily but Brooks frees himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Esquiva Falcao showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Falcao cracks Brooks with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Falcao takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Nice uppercut there from Falcao.
Falcao has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Falcao is looking to stand up but Brooks won't let him.
Brooks seems keen to control Falcao's posture.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Ryan Brooks overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Brooks misses with a takedown attempt - Falcao sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Falcao wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

And that's the end of the fight!
Esquiva Falcao comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Falcao has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
