Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Remulus Romus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kojak Komodo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Komodo has chosen The Running Dragon as his entrance music. Remulus Romus could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Kojak Komodo's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Remulus Romus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kojak Komodo!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Komodo closes the distance and pushes Romus back into the cage.
Komodo scores with a nice hook to the head.
Romus wants to stall.
Komodo lands a right hand that snaps the head of Romus backwards.
Komodo makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Komodo tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Komodo is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Komodo is trying to drag Romus to the mat but Romus just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Komodo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Romus has a couple of punches blocked by Komodo.

Romus swings wildly with an uppercut but Komodo uses good head movement to avoid it.
Komodo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Romus just stands there and leans against the cage.

Komodo has picked Romus up - he's going for a ride! Komodo dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Romus is concentrating on defense, preventing Komodo from advancing position.

Romus has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Komodo is working away from the top position though.

Komodo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Romus does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Romus on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Romus tries to get out of the position.
Komodo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Komodo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Komodo looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Romus is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Romus won't allow Komodo to pass to mount.
Komodo trying to advance position but Romus counters by regaining guard.
Komodo postures up in Romus's guard and throws a big left but Romus blocks it.
Romus wants to sweep but no luck.
Komodo throwing strikes but missing.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Remulus Romus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Romus throws a lazy right hand but Komodo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Komodo is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Komodo misses with a takedown attempt - Romus sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Remulus Romus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kojak Komodo.
Komodo throws an overhand right that lands on Romus's shoulder, as Romus tries to avoid the shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Romus throws a jab but it's blocked by Komodo.
Komodo takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Romus works over Komodo's head and body with a nice combination.
Komodo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Komodo throws a nice inside leg kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Romus counters with a straight right hand.

Komodo isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Romus stacks Komodo on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Romus!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close second round but I would say that Remulus Romus will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Romus feints and then cracks Komodo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Komodo down.

Komodo shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Romus is trying to defend but Komodo finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

We've been hearing good reports from Romus's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Komodo is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Romus is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
