Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Yay Wee Won!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Bruno Hogan and Ron Honeybunn.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Won tries to bum rush Vercini with a series of wild strikes but Vercini uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Won throws an overhand right that lands on Vercini's shoulder, as Vercini tries to avoid the shot.
Vercini half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Won misses with a lunging right hand

and Vercini counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Won is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vercini is controlling him.
Vercini controlling from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vercini prevents Won from getting back to his feet.
Vercini tries to free his leg and advance position but Won is retaining full guard.

Vercini slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Won wants to get back to his feet but Vercini is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Won misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Vercini seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Won for as long as he can get away with.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Won is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

and Vercini counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Won is looking to stand up but Vercini isn't so interested in that idea.
Vercini is stalling in the full guard.

Won can't keep his opponent in guard - Vercini advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Won is looking to escape.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Won tries a head kick but it misses.
Vercini attempts a counter takedown but Won avoids it well and moves away.

Won uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Vercini has time to react.
Won swings away with a body shot that misses

and Vercini counters with a takedown into side control.
Won is not content to let Vercini control the position.

Won is letting Vercini control him for a moment.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Won will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Won gets caught napping as Vercini dives in and scores a takedown. Won manages to retain guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vercini moves to the back.

Vercini has got one arm under Won's chin. This could be trouble... Won trying to control the other hand but Vercini gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Won has tapped out! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Frankie Vercini!
