PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darrell Solomon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fin Finley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darrell Solomon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fin Finley!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Finley clinches.
Finley has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Solomon after a bit of a struggle.
Finley pushes off an throws an elbow but Solomon leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Finley jumps guard but Solomon turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Finley changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Solomon fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Darrell Solomon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fin Finley.
Finley tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Solomon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Finley closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Finley's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Finley forces Solomon back against the cage and clinches.
Finley is trying to drag Solomon to the mat but Solomon just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Solomon misses with a punch to the body.
Finley wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Finley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Solomon walks away with a smile on his face. Finley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Finley moves into range and clinches up with Solomon.

Finley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Finley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Finley lands in his opponent's guard.

Solomon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Finley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Finley pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Solomon is keeping the position for now.
Solomon is trying to control the position but Finley postures up.
Finley would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Solomon is pulling down on Finley's head. It's preventing any offense from Finley, at least for the moment.
Finley controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Solomon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Solomon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Finley is aware though and is defending well.
Finley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Solomon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Finley being controlled here momentarily.
Solomon controls Finley momentarily but Finley frees himself.
Solomon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Solomon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Finley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Solomon is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Solomon has his feet on Finley's thighs here. He's pushed Finley off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Finley screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
