Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stan Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Polish Engineer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Stan Marsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Polish Engineer!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marsh misses with a body shot.
Marsh misses with a head kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Marsh.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Engineer.
Marsh keeps the fight on the outside.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Marsh enables Engineer to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Marsh manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Marsh wants to get back to his feet but Engineer is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Engineer wants to stand but Marsh is controlling his posture from full guard.
Marsh not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Marsh has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Engineer has passed into side control.
Marsh can't do much from the bottom here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Marsh is trying to control Engineer's posture but Engineer avoids it.

Engineer tries for a kimura but Marsh is defending well.
Marsh prevents Engineer from improving position.

Marsh pushes Engineer away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Engineer gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Marsh pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Engineer gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Marsh counters with a head kick that drops Engineer to the mat! Engineer scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
Marsh lunges at Engineer with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Engineer's hand.

Marsh slaps away a takedown attempt from Engineer, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Stan Marsh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Polish Engineer.
Engineer tries to clinch up but Marsh circles away and keeps his distance.
Marsh connects with a solid leg kick.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Engineer blocks a head kick by Marsh.
And Engineer tries to counter it with a takedown but Marsh pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Engineer closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Marsh tries to buck Engineer off but Engineer is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Stan Marsh will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Engineer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Marsh as he avoids it easily.
Marsh misses with a low kick.
Marsh connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Engineer's hands.
Marsh is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Engineer can do to turn this around?

Engineer bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Marsh's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Engineer decides to stand up, so the ref orders Marsh to his feet.
Engineer throws a sloppy head kick and Marsh moves out of range easily.
It looked like Marsh wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Engineer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Marsh as he jumps to the side.
Marsh stuns Engineer with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Engineer throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Marsh was covering up waiting for the punch and Engineer finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Marsh controls Engineer momentarily but Engineer frees himself.
Marsh wants to get back to his feet but Engineer is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Marsh is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Marsh tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Marsh is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Engineer controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Marsh connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Engineer throws a series of punches but Marsh avoids them all with ease.
Engineer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Marsh swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Marsh scores with a body shot.
Engineer takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Marsh misses with a head kick.
And Engineer tries to counter it with a takedown but Marsh pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Marsh cracks Engineer with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Marsh has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Engineer to stand back up!


It looks like Polish Engineer has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Marsh tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Engineer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Marsh tried to counter with a leg kick but Engineer avoided it.

Marsh throws a lazy right hand but Engineer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Engineer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Marsh as he avoids it easily.

Engineer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Marsh was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stan Marsh dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Polish Engineer's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Engineer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Marsh.
Stan Marsh is winning the standup battle so far.
Marsh bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Engineer's head.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Marsh here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Engineer bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Engineer drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Marsh defends it well.
Marsh looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Polish Engineer is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Engineer misses with a takedown attempt - Marsh sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Engineer drives through with a takedown into Marsh's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Marsh bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Engineer's guard.

Marsh stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Engineer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Marsh wants to stand but Engineer is controlling his posture from full guard.
Marsh slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Engineer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Polish Engineer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Marsh prevents Engineer from getting back to his feet.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Marsh avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Marsh, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
