Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Gower (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mister Mariachi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mister Mariachi will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeff Gower! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mister Mariachi! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shigeki Fujiwara and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gower rushes Mariachi and presses him up against the cage. Gower lands a left hand that snaps the head of Mariachi backwards. Gower lands a shot to the body. Gower definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Mariachi tries to score a body lock takedown but Gower shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Mariachi misses with a short punch on the inside. Mariachi's coach down at Tokyo Fitness & Sparring was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Mariachi's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Mariachi has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Gower lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Mariachi backwards.
It looks like Mister Mariachi has been cut. Gower lands a right hand. Gower avoiding damage as Mariachi throws knees to the body.

Gower lands a left hand that snaps the head of Mariachi backwards. Mariachi throws an elbow but it's blocked.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Gower pushes Mariachi back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Mariachi looks winded! Gower pushes Mariachi back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Mariachi wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mariachi's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Gower tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Mariachi avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mariachi is looking to control Gower's arms but Gower gets an underhook and turns him. Now Mariachi has his back to the cage. A quick uppercut on the inside from Gower. Gower stalling against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Mariachi wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Gower has him pressed against the cage. Gower lands a left hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Gower throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Mariachi tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Still in the clinch, Gower scores with a nice short uppercut. Gower's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Gower lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Mariachi is rocked! Gower pushes Mariachi back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Mariachi is still on wobbly legs! Can Gower finish him? With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gower creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Gower blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Gower pulls Mariachi into guard.
Mariachi seems to have recovered his senses. Mariachi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Gower pulls Mariachi in close to his closed guard and prevents Mariachi from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Gower wants to sweep here but Mariachi controlling him for the moment. Gower trying to control the position here. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jeff Gower dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mister Mariachi's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Gower scores with an uppercut up the middle. Gower lands an uppercut. Gower lands with a light punch inside. Gower is defending well against a takedown attempt. Mariachi on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A short right hand to the side of the head by Gower. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Gower avoids the elbow strike from Mariachi, against the cage.

Mariachi wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Gower lands a shoulder strike. A short right from Gower on the inside. Gower displaying some good clinch control by pressing Mariachi up against the cage. Mariachi avoiding damage as Gower throws knees to the body.
Gower throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Mariachi is trying to break free. Gower escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Gower closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. A short right from Gower on the inside. Gower is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mariachi can do to turn this around? Gower lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Gower gets through Mariachi's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Gower content to slow the pace in the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Gower lands a left hand.
Gower keeps control of Mariachi as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Gower working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Gower is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mariachi is defending well for now. Gower presses Mariachi against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. Gower scores with a hook to the body. Mariachi managing to block the knees to the body from Gower.

Mariachi is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Gower lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Gower breaks from the clinch.

Gower softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Gower controlling the action here for a moment.
Gower throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Mariachis head. Gower taking a breather. Gower lands a nice uppercut. A nice right hand lands inside from Gower. Gower drops Mariachi onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Mariachi is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
That has opened up Mister Mariachi's cut even more. This has been an exciting period of action! Gower creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Mariachi with a big uppercut! Mariachi tries to clinch up but Gower pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Mariachi to the mat! Mariachi covers up and Gower unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
