Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between David Freitas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damon Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen power circle as his entrance music. David Freitas looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Freitas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Damon Smith!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Freitas on his heels. He'll look to pass Freitas's guard now, I'm sure.
Smith postures up in Freitas's guard and throws a big left but Freitas blocks it.
Smith throws a strike but Freitas rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Freitas trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith wants to stand up but Freitas is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Freitas seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Freitas stands and steps away. Smith gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Smith shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Freitas's guard.
Smith sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Freitas doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Smith paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Freitas - great work!
