Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Lineker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chip Ripper! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ripper misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Lineker.
An attempted straight right counter from Lineker misses the target. Ripper tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Lineker scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Ripper finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Lineker seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Lineker just misses with a punch to the body.
Lineker lands with a nice body punch. Nice body punch from Lineker. Ripper drives through and clinches with Lineker against the cage.
Lineker tries to break free but Ripper pushes him back against the cage. Ripper throws a head punch that misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lineker is trying to force a seperation but Ripper has the dominant position. Lineker blocking some punches.
Ripper is trying to maintain a safe position but Lineker gets an underhook and turns Ripper into the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ripper tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Ripper misses with a punch on the inside.
Lineker is trying to break free. Lineker is trying to break the clinch but Ripper is controlling him. Ripper keeps control of Lineker as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Ripper working aggressively here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Lineker dodges an elbow strike from Ripper.
Ripper throws a head punch that misses. Lineker wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Lineker is trying to push Ripper away but Ripper has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Lineker prevents a body shot from Ripper. Lineker breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Lineker connects with the punch. Ripper throws a head kick that misses. Lineker misses with a two punch combination.
Lineker digs a good body shot into Ripper's ribs. Ripper takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ripper misses with a hook
and Lineker counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ripper thinking. Lineker closes the distance and lands a one-two. Ripper uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lineker.
Lineker lands with a shot to the body. Ripper on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Ripper.
Lineker lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Ripper backs up against the cage.
Ripper pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Chip Ripper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Oooooh!!! Lineker has knocked Ripper down with a huge combo! Lineker steps away and waves a wobbly Ripper back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

It looks like Chip Ripper has been cut. Lineker scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Ripper is still on wobbly legs! Can Lineker finish him? Ripper feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Lineker's calf. Lineker throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Ripper throws a leg kick and Lineker connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Lineker works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Lineker is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Ripper hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). John Lineker!
