Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Elliott Howe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Davey Linster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Davey Linster!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howe shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Linster counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Elliott Howe has been cut.
Linster fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Howe avoids it really well and circles away.
Howe blocks the body kick.

Linster gets tackled into the cage by Howe. Howe maintains the clinch.
Howe could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Howe misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Linster.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Howe tries to land a knee to the head but Linster blocks with his arms.

The referee calls for Howe to work.

Linster decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Linster tries for a takedown but Howe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Howe tries to clinch but Linster is having none of it.
Linster shoots in but no luck this time.
Linster tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Howe defends well and Linster ends up having to push Howe into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Howe has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Linster is trying to keep an underhook but Howe manages to get the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Howe postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Linster to stand up.

Linster closes this distance looking for a takedown but Howe circles away.
Linster changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Howe tries to avoid it but Linster manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Howe to the ground. Howe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Howe is looking to counter the offense by Linster and move into the clinch.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Linster enables Howe to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Linster manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Linster is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Howe is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Linster tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Howe was well out of range. Poor timing from Linster.

Linster dives in for a single leg takedown but Howe sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Davey Linster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Linster uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Howe.
Howe doesn't manage to clinch there - Linster circles away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Linster throws a right hand that Howe ducks under and follows up with a left that Howe also avoids with ease.
As Linster tries to get set, Howe tries to push him back and clinch up but Linster manages to avoid the attempt.

Howe wants the takedown. Linster is fighting it off but Howe persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Linster's guard against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Linster lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Linster goes for a double leg but Howe avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Howe continues to drive forward.

As Linster tries to get set, Howe tries to push him back and clinch up but Linster manages to avoid the attempt.

Davey Linster has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Elliott Howe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Linster is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Howe is just riding it out for now. Linster eventually gives up the hold.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Elliott Howe.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Howe, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
