Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stanly Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Williams has chosen Kenny Loggins - I'm free as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stanly Williams !
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams lands with a right hand.
Williams pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Williams ducks under a wild hook from Charles.
Charles throws a shot to the body.
Williams blocks a head kick by Charles.
Charles misses with a wild body shot.
An inside leg kick from Williams misses.
Charles throws a right and a left that both miss.
Williams throws a front kick aimed at Charles's knee but Charles avoids it well.
Charles appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Williams manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Charles on his heels. He'll look to pass Charles's guard now, I'm sure.
Williams stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Charles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Williams is looking to work some ground and pound but Charles has wrist control.
Williams not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Charles is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Williams throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Charles works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Williams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Charles seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Williams throws an overhand right that lands on Charles's shoulder, as Charles tries to avoid the shot.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Williams has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Williams moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Williams takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Williams misses with a wild combination.
Williams moves out of range of the body kick from Charles.
Williams throws a head kick but Charles moves out of range.
Williams slips a jab and a cross from Charles.
Williams changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Charles fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Charles, as that shot connected.
A bone on bone clash there as Williams blocks the leg kick.
Charles looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Williams misses with an uppercut.
Williams fails with the takedown
and Charles counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Charles lands a nice looking body shot.
Charles fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Williams avoids a punch combination nicely.

Williams keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Charles tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Williams manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Charles tries to bum rush Williams with a series of wild strikes but Williams uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Charles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily.
Williams tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Williams will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Williams looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Williams uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Charles has time to react.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Williams takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Charles fires out a quick counter leg kick but Williams just manages to avoid it.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Williams checks a leg kick.

A looping hook to the body misses from Charles. Williams does a little dance to reset his feet.
Williams shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
David Charles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stanly Williams .
Williams misses with an uppercut. Charles saw that one coming.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that David Charles will probably get the nod.
That's time! Charles's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Williams thuds his right hand into Charles's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Williams throws out a loose jab but Charles uses good head movement to avoid it.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Charles keeps control of Williams as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Charles tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Williams 's elbow.

Williams is trying to drag Charles to the mat but Charles just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Charles pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Charles creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Williams 's defenses.

Charles lands a hook that snaps the head of Williams backwards.
A head punch on the inside from Charles fails to land.
Williams is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Charles gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Williams breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Williams takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Charles has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Williams .
Charles is looking to clinch but Williams is avoiding it.
Williams feints the counter takedown.
Williams has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The fight stays on the outside here - Charles looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Charles doesn't manage to clinch there - Williams circles away.
Williams fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Charles avoids it really well and circles away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A close second round but Stanly Williams will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Williams shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Charles's guard.

Charles pulls Williams in close to his closed guard and prevents Williams from doing any damage or advancing position.
Williams sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Charles's guard.

Williams thows a huge punch but Charles dodges it nicely.
Williams is trying to control. Charles wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Williams thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Charles's head.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Williams fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Charles sprawls well initially but Williams persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
