Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Henry Olonga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
45 - 21 - 4, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marko Torturo!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Atkins and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olonga throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Olonga ducks under a wild hook from Torturo.
Torturo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Olonga dips to his left and cracks Torturo with an uppercut!
Torturo on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Olonga scores with a body shot.
Torturo motions for Olonga to come forward. Torturo throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Torturo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Torturo thows a leg kick but Olonga checks it
and Olonga counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Nice straight punches there by Olonga. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Olonga.
Torturo feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Olongas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Olonga misses with an uppercut. Torturo saw that one coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Olonga moves out of range of the body kick.
Olonga keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Torturo moves in looking to clinch but Olonga pushes him off.
Torturo throws the kick towards the body but Olonga avoids it.
Olonga scores with a crisp jab that stopped Torturo in his tracks.
Torturo looks for the body kick but Olonga saw that one coming.
Olonga throws out a leg kick but Torturo moves out of range and Olonga only half commits.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Torturo takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Torturo keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Olonga.
Torturo misses with a left hand
and Olonga counters with a stiff right hand.
Olonga throws a monster overhand right that drops Torturo! Olonga follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Henry Olonga!
