Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ippo Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kirk Angel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ribeiro comes to the cage accompanied by bubble pop. Angel comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Mudvayne-Fall Into Sleep kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Ippo Ribeiro has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kirk Angel! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Angel moves to clinch but Ribeiro breaks away so Ribeiro counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Angel working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ribeiro. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ribeiro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Ribeiro will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Angel uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Ribeiro drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ribeiro loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Angel avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Ribeiro working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ribeiro prevents Angel from getting back to his feet. Ribeiro slips nicely into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Angel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Angel lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Angel tries to clinch up and Ribeiro counters with a left and a right that stings Angel. Ribeiro will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Ribeiro shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Ribeiro thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Angel regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Ribeiro.
