The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Downem on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Vargas. Vargas obviously looking to wear him down.

Downem gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

It looks like Takem Downem has been cut.
Downem shoots in looking for a takedown but Vargas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Downem's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Downem forces Vargas back against the ropes and clinches.

Downem misses with a punch to the body.
Downem has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Vargas avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Ryan Vargas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takem Downem.
Downem jumps guard but Vargas stands there with Downem around his waist. Downem gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Downem shoots for a takedown but Vargas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
