Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tigo Alves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joseph Bulger!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bulger circles away quickly and effectively.
Alves scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Alves has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Jaennersdorfer Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Alves throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

so Bulger counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bulger prevents Alves from getting back to his feet.
Alves is looking to stand back up but Bulger counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Alves.
Alves looks like he's trying to stand up.

Bulger wants to work for an arm triangle but Alves is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Bulger prevents Alves from standing back up.

Alves manages to escape and get back to his feet!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Alves looks to land a combination but Bulger avoids it well.
Alves throws a series of punches but Bulger moves out of range.
Alves displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alves throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Bulger is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
A left and a right from Alves both land. Nice combination.
Bulger's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Alves connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bulger scrambles back to his feet.
Bulger moves away from the strike by Alves.
Bulger tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Bulger on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Tigo Alves is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alves misses with the combination.
Alves throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Bulger counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Alves!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alves is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Bulger tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Alves wants to get back to his feet but Bulger drags him back down.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Check out the look on Bulger's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Alves is pushing Bulger's head away, looking to escape. Bulger manages to hold on to the position though.
A lull in the action here as Bulger stalls from top position.

Bulger in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Alves is tapping! That's the end of the fight!

A relieved looking Joseph Bulger thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
