Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Mcknight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Dole (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bobby Dole acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dirk Mcknight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bobby Dole!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Joseph Jones and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dole has managed to clinch.
Dole is struggling to control the position.
Mcknight throws an elbow that misses.
Mcknight tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Dole slowing the pace effectively.

Dole pulls guard effortlessly.
Dole seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Dole tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mcknight in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Mcknight knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dole on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dole has his hands on Mcknight's head, controlling the position.

Mcknight throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dole works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dole tries to buck Mcknight off but Mcknight is having none of it.

Dole is looking for a sweep.

Mcknight tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mcknight has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcknight throwing shots but missing, from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dole is trying to control Mcknight's posture but Mcknight avoids it.
Dole regains half guard.

Dole slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dole looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Mcknight has picked Dole up and slammed him! Dole can't keep hold of the triangle and Mcknight manages to pass to side control!
Dole is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Mcknight seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Mcknight thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dole's head.

Bobby Dole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dole shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mcknight as he avoids it easily.
Mcknight throws a big counter combination but Dole scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Dole is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mcknight is aware though and is defending well.
Dole looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mcknight is one step ahead there.
Mcknight working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Mcknight is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Dole can do to turn this around?
Dole throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Dole is pressed up against the cage. Mcknight has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dole down to the mat. Dole avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Mcknight jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dole walks away with a smile on his face. Mcknight gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mcknight tries to sprawl but Dole drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Dole wants to stand up but Mcknight has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Dole stalling.

Mcknight trying to control but Dole postures up.
Dole is nestled in close to Mcknight, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Mcknight wants to get back to full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mcknight is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dole scores with a couple of nice shots.
Dole moves into full mount! Mcknight won't be happy about that!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bobby Dole showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Mcknight.

Dole jumps guard and drags Mcknight to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Dole. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Bobby Dole comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dole has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
