The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Phelps.
Manson drops Phelps with a beautiful combination! Phelps stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Manson is looking for the KO!
It looks like Johnnie Phelps has been cut.
Manson tries to close the distance and clinch but Phelps swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
As Manson tries to get set, Phelps tries to push him back and clinch up but Manson manages to avoid the attempt.
Manson throws a head kick that misses.
Phelps takes one on the button.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Manson.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Phelps is looking to regain half guard here but Manson keeps moving and retains side control.

As Phelps backs off Manson throws a huge counter combo but Phelps manages to avoid it all.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Manson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Phelps has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Manson is working away from the top position though.

Manson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Phelps. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Phelps looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Manson has picked Phelps up and slammed him! Phelps can't keep hold of the triangle and Manson manages to pass to side control!
