Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Wells (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aulis Multio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aulis Multio!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Multio looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Multio is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Wells reverses the position - he's now on top in Multio's guard.
Multio seems keen to control Wells's posture.
Multio tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wells is fighting to break Multio's control of his arms but Multio is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Multio is trying to control the position but Wells postures up.
Wells knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Multio on the ground.
Multio tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Multio can do anything to dispel that myth.
Multio pulls Wells in close to prevent any damage.
Multio's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Multio wants to sweep here but Wells controlling him for the moment.
Multio has his hands on Wells's head, controlling the position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Aulis Multio just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Multio tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Wells paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ken Wells seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Multio moves into the clinch.

Multio drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wells pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Multio counters with a nice double leg into side control. Wells won't be happy with that.

Wells looks like he's trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Wells doesn't succeed with the takedown

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
and Multio counters with a single leg into guard. Wells didn't expect that.
Multio stays in close to Wells's body and controls the position.
Multio pushes down on Wells's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Multio tries to pass the half guard into mount. Wells knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Multio is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Multio escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wells has his takedown stuffed

and Multio counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Multio perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Multio scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Multio working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Multio looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Multio not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Aulis Multio has got the better of the ground game so far.

Multio thows a huge punch but Wells dodges it nicely.
Wells avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Multio.

Multio is taking a breather. Wells says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ken Wells will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!



Multio rushes Wells and presses him up against the cage.
Multio has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wells avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Multio will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Wells up against the cage.
Wells lands an elbow that stopped Multio in his tracks for a moment.

Multio digs a right hand into Wells's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Wells's gas tank.

Wells with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Multio gets control of Wells's arms and successfully pulls guard. Multio will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Wells passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.

Multio gets back to full guard.
Multio manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Multio has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Multio throwing strikes here but Wells is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Wells is bucking up trying to escape but Multio cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Multio wants to control the pace but Wells is squirming around nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
Aulis Multio comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Multio has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
