Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mathew Mays (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teh Jexor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mathew Mays has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mathew Mays!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Teh Jexor!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mays tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jexor paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Jexor avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Mays closes the distance and clinches.

Jexor has picked Mays up - he's going for a ride! Jexor dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Mays tries to roll over but Jexor keeps him under control.
Mays is trying to stand back up but Jexor is controlling him

Jexor is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mays sees it coming and defends easily.
Jexor trying to control the action but Mays is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mays wants to get back to his feet.
Mays moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Jexor passes Mays's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Jexor prevents Mays from improving his position.
Jexor seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mays does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Mays regains full guard. Nicely done.

Mays is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Mays breaks the clinch.
Jexor darts in looking for a takedown but Mays gets double underhooks and turns Jexor into the cage.
Mays looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Jexor fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mays sprawls well initially but Jexor persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Mays wants to control but Jexor is keeping busy.

Jexor is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mays defends it well.

Mays is looking for a sweep. Jexor is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mays is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jexor's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jexor's back!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mays continues to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mays struggling to keep hold of the position.
Jexor tries to escape but Mays has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Jexor is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Mays lands with a hammerfist to the side of Jexor's head.

Mays lands a shot to the head.

Mays slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
Mays has Jexor flattened out and is raining down punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jexor is really stuck here.
Mays just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Mays connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Jexor's hands.
Mays throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jexor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mays pinned against the cage. Mays gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jexor is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Mays tries to close the distance and clinch but Jexor swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Mays tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Jexor manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Jexor tries to keep at a distance but Mays has taken the fight into the clinch.

Mays breaks from the clinch.
Teh Jexor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mays throws a push kick but Jexor slaps the foot to one side.
Jexor changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Jexor gets tackled into the cage by Mays. Mays maintains the clinch.
Mays stops a takedown attempt from Jexor.
Mathew Mays has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Teh Jexor.
Jexor is trying to break free.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Mays prevents a takedown attempt there.

Mays's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Horrible takedown attempt by Jexor or perhaps it was just good defense by Mays, which made it look bad.

Jexor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Mays tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jexor swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jexor closes the distance and clinches up with Mays, looking for a takedown. Jexor pushes Mays against the cage but Mays circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mays tries to clinch but Jexor moves out of range.
Jexor with the counter takedown but Mays avoids it easily.
Mays fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Mays throws a looping overhand right but Jexor ducks down to avoid it.
Mays really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Mays tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jexor avoids the head kick by Mays.

Jexor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mays was covering up waiting for the punch and Jexor finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jexor wants to control from the top but Mays keeps moving.
Mays is trying to keep Jexor in close.
Mathew Mays overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mays pulls Jexor in close to prevent any damage.

Jexor pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mays is keeping the position for now.

Jexor drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mays manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jexor has Mays in his guard.

Mays slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Teh Jexor has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
More hug and hope from Mays.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jexor keeping moving, preventing Mays from controlling successfully.
Mays controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Mathew Mays is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Mays is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well Mays has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
