PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Great Cornholio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cornholio comes to the cage accompanied by Du Hast by Ramstein - Cornholio Mix. Palmer is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sans Pression - Numero 1. The key to victory for Great Cornholio has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Great Cornholio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Palmer!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cornholio tries to close the distance and clinch up but Palmer swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Palmer is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Palmer misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Palmer dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Cornholio jabs Palmer right on the nose. Palmer blinks but takes it well.
Cornholio lands with a slapping head kick.
Cornholio throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Cornholio tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Palmer was well out of range. Poor timing from Cornholio.
Great Cornholio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Palmer just misses with a punch to the body.
Cornholio tries to score with a low kick but Palmer moves his leg out of the way.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Palmer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Cornholio.
Cornholio attempts a counter takedown but Palmer avoids it well and moves away.
Palmer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cornholio swivels and escapes.
Palmer looks to land a body kick but Cornholio moved away.
Cornholio uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Cornholio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cornholio is wriggling around trying to escape.
Palmer takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Palmer has hold of Cornholio's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Cornholio manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cornholio keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Palmer can't control as he wanted to and Cornholio manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

Palmer is trying to control. Cornholio wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Palmer is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Palmer is working for a kimura but Cornholio is defending it quite comfortably.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cornholio stuffs the takedown.
Cornholio is looking to counter the offense by Palmer and move into the clinch.
Cornholio throws a head kick but Palmer moves out of range.

Cornholio lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Palmer circles away quickly and effectively.

Palmer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cornholio's waist but Cornholio gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Palmer off to one side.

Cornholio displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Palmer throws out the jab.

Cornholio scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Palmer doesn't seem bothered though.
Cornholio is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Palmer can do to turn this around?

Cornholio jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

Cornholio's corner calls for a 1-2. Cornholio obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Palmer tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Palmer takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Cornholio misses with a series of wild punches.
Cornholio stalks Palmer and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Palmer's face. Palmer staggers backwards, shaken.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Cornholio tries to score a power double leg takedown but Palmer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cornholio somewhat.
Palmer is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Cornholio bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Great Cornholio dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Palmer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Palmer is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cornholio is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Cornholio tries to buck Palmer off but Palmer is having none of it.

Palmer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cornholio has escaped the position, nice work there.
Cornholio is not content to let Palmer control the position.

Palmer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cornholio keeps working.

Palmer thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
A lull in the action here as Palmer stalls from top position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Palmer trying to control the action but Cornholio is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Palmer fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Cornholio on the side of the head.

Palmer swings around for an armbar but Cornholio sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Palmer's guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Cornholio is in close to Palmer's body, working some short punches and elbows.

George Palmer comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Palmer has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
