Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Wakefield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Silva! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Wakefield ! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Silva fails with the takedown. Wakefield gets caught flat footed, as Silva shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Silva has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Wakefield is proving hard to escape from. Silva postures up.
Silva trying to control but Wakefield is working from the bottom. Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wakefield works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Wakefield keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully. Wakefield is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Wakefield is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva stopping the sweep attempt from Wakefield . Silva missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wakefield gets a clinch. Wakefield successfully pulls guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Silva missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Wakefield throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Silva wanted to stand there but Wakefield had control of the position. Silva wants to pass the guard but Wakefield is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva won't allow Wakefield to get back to his feet. Wakefield manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Wakefield sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Silva is breathing heavily. Wakefield lands a big elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wakefield gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Wakefield fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Silva is out of range. Silva throws a leg kick and Wakefield counters with a nice double leg into side control. Silva won't be happy with that. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Wakefield decides to take the fight back to the feet. Silva misses with a takedown and Wakefield counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Wakefield . Wakefield gets to his feet. Silva looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Silva doesn't succeed with the takedown and Wakefield counters into the clinch. Nicely done. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Wakefield dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Wakefield shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Wakefield controlling the position easily from mount. Wakefield throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Wakefield goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Silva turns into him and now he's in Wakefield 's guard.
Wakefield striking off his back but it's not causing Silva any problems. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wakefield looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Wakefield is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Silva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Wakefield is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Silva, into his guard. Wakefield wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Wakefield slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Wakefield controls the position from side control. Wakefield moves into full mount!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wakefield controlling the pace for now. John Wakefield has got the better of the ground game so far. Wakefield raining down shots from the mount! Wakefield sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Wakefield wants to control the pace but Silva is squirming around nicely. Wakefield looking to control and managing it successfully. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Despite being in the dominant position, John Wakefield just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wakefield shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
John Wakefield showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
Wakefield closes the distance and clinches. Silva tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wakefield just stands there and leans against the cage. Wakefield has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Silva regains guard immediately. Wakefield gets to his feet. Silva looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Wakefield counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Silva's guard now. Wakefield stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control. Wakefield is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Silva is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Wakefield wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Silva is looking to reverse the position. Silva taking punishment in the form of punches.
Silva is trying to control Wakefield 's posture but Wakefield avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Silva is trying to improve his position. Silva being controlled for a moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Wakefield gets a takedown into half guard. Wakefield throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wakefield perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Wakefield stands up and beckons Silva to join him on the feet. Wakefield forces Silva back against the cage and clinches. Wakefield breaks the clinch.
Wakefield shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Silva's guard. Wakefield sitting in guard here, content to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wakefield stands up and waves to Silva to follow him. Silva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wakefield sprawls well initially but Silva persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Wakefield keeps control of the position for the meantime. Silva trying to control from Wakefield 's half guard. Wakefield has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
And that's the end of the fight! John Wakefield comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Wakefield has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
