Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kimo Rice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Austin moves out of range of the strikes.
Austin uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rice.
Rice looks to score with a jab to the body but Austin is just out of range.
Austin shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rice as he jumps to the side.
Rice looks to throw the jab but Austin is out of range.
Austin slips a jab and a cross from Rice.

Austin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rice's guard.
Austin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rice's guard.
Austin is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Rice manages to get to full guard.
Austin wants to stand but Rice is controlling his posture from full guard.
Austin stops Rice from standing up.
Rice knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Austin on the ground.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rice is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Austin pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rice misses with an uppercut.
Rice misses with a series of wild punches.
Austin wants to clinch up but Rice keeps it at a distance.
Rice is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Austin.
A telegraphed right hand from Rice misses the target.
Austin throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Austin misses with a takedown attempt - Rice sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Austin tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rice swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Austin is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Rice misses with a double jab.
Austin throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Austin.
Rice throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Austin counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Austin stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Rice on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Rice tries to get out of the position.

Rice pushes Austin off and scrambles back to his feet.
Austin misses with a few strikes there.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rice, as that shot connected.

Austin moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

and Austin counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Austin.

Rice has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Austin off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and Austin holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rice is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Austin prevents Rice from breaking the clinch.

and Austin counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Shane Austin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Austin throws a combination. Rice tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Shane Austin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Austin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
