Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jordan Ellis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, John Smith!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Anthony Taglia and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ellis has taken the fight to the clinch.
Smith misses with a punch on the inside.
Ellis is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Ellis breaks the clinch.

Ellis has taken the fight to the clinch.
Smith has had enough of the clinch but Ellis keeps him there for the moment.
Smith misses with a punch to the body.
Smith jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ellis walks away with a smile on his face. Smith gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Ellis throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Ellis definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Ellis throws a big shot that misses.
Ellis doesn't manage to clinch there - Smith circles away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Smith! But no joy.

Ellis moves into range and clinches up with Smith.
Smith misses with a punch to the body.
A hook to the body from Ellis.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A bit of stalling here from Ellis.
Ellis gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Ellis lands a damaging elbow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith struggles to land a body shot inside as Ellis controls his hands.

Smith lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Ellis lands a right hand that snaps the head of Smith backwards.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Ellis.
Ellis comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.


It looks like John Smith has been cut.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Ellis.

We've been informed that Smith has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Ellis is leaning against Smith and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ellis creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Ellis manages to break the clinch.

Smith throws a fast counter high kick but Ellis manages to duck under it in time.
Jordan Ellis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Ellis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Smith creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Ellis content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Ellis manages to break the clinch.
Ellis dodges the punch combination from Smith.
Ellis walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Smith checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
It seemed like Smith was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Smith moves out of range as Ellis strikes.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ellis.

Ellis has closed the distance and engaged Smith in a clinch.
Ellis lands an elbow inside that Smith shrugs off.
Smith can't get the takedown.
Jordan Ellis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Smith.

Smith is trying to break the clinch but Ellis has him pressed against the cage.

Ellis breaks the clinch.
Smith on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Ellis lands a big right hand that sends Smith crashing to the mat! Ellis stays standing though and waves Smith back to his feet!

Ellis closes the distance and clinches.
Smith is still on wobbly legs! Can Ellis finish him?
Ellis blocks the elbow strike.
Smith seems to have recovered his senses.

Ellis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ellis tries to close the distance and clinch but Smith swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ellis darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.
Ellis lands a nice shot to the body.
Ellis lands a damaging elbow.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Ellis.
Ellis lands a left hand.
Ellis gets through Smith's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Ellis working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Ellis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ellis feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Smith sprawling to the canvas! Smith rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Ellis finish him?!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Smith doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Smith drops his hands momentarily. Ellis doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Smith staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Smith doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jordan Ellis!
