Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tony Jaa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenta Nakayama!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jaa dives in for a single leg takedown but Nakayama sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nakayama wants to counter with a clinch but Jaa pushes him away.
Kenta Nakayama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jaa gets caught napping as Nakayama dives in and scores a takedown. Jaa manages to retain guard.
Nakayama postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nakayama wants to stand but Jaa is controlling his posture from full guard.

Jaa is looking for a triangle but Nakayama pushes his legs off easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nakayama wants to control from the top but Jaa keeps moving.

Nakayama might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Jaa haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Nakayama postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Nakayama fails with the takedown.
Nakayama swats away the attempt to clinch by Jaa.
No luck for Nakayama with that takedown attempt.
Nakayama stuffs the takedown attempt from Jaa. Jaa gets slowly back to his feet.
Nakayama wants to counter the offense by Jaa and move into the clinch position.
Jaa lands with a shot to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jaa moves into the clinch.
Nakayama can't get the takedown.
Tony Jaa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kenta Nakayama.
Jaa stalls.
Nakayama is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jaa to keep the fight standing.

Nakayama drags the fight down to the ground.
Jaa looking to sit in guard and control but Nakayama gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jaa tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Jaa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nakayama on the ground.
Jaa wants to stand but Nakayama is controlling the position.

Nakayama is fighting to break Jaa's control of his arms but Jaa is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jaa can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Nakayama controls the pace.
Jaa on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jaa tries to get out of the position.
Jaa wants to stand but Nakayama is controlling the position.
Jaa wants to hit a switch here but Nakayama passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Jaa there!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nakayama with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Jaa avoids a series of strikes thrown by Nakayama.

Nakayama is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Jaa is forced to tap! Great finish!
