Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Howarth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nautica Thorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nautica Thorn!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Howarth as he jumps to the side.
Howarth throwing a counter right hand but Thorn manages to avoid it.
Thorn looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Howarth scores with a nice right hand.
Howarth takes a swing at Thorn's ribcage but misses.
Thorn tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Howarth defends well and Thorn ends up having to push Howarth into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Howarth swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
James Howarth has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nautica Thorn.
Howarth gets tackled into the cage by Thorn. Thorn maintains the clinch.
Thorn's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Howarth throws a right and a left that Thorn avoids nicely.
Howarth misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Thorn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Howarth's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Thorn is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
