Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Yoshido Nakamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroyuki Okamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Okamoto is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Feel the Drive. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshido Nakamara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroyuki Okamoto!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Sosuke Kotani and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okamoto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Nakamara feints and as Okamoto raises his hands in defense, Nakamara changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Okamoto looking for a sweep. Not yet Okamoto, not yet.

Okamoto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nakamara gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Okamoto working for a triangle but Nakamara defends it easily.
Okamoto is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Nakamara working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Okamoto is working an open guard so Nakamara takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Nakamara shoots in for a takedown but Okamoto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Okamoto throws out a leg kick but Nakamara moves out of range and Okamoto only half commits.

Okamoto lunges at Nakamara with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Nakamara's hand.

Okamoto throws a leg kick which misses Nakamara's front leg but catches the back leg as Nakamara tries to avoid it.
Okamoto moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A clash of legs there as Nakamara blocks the low kick.
Hiroyuki Okamoto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Okamoto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Okamoto slips a jab and a cross from Nakamara.
Nakamara shoots in but no luck this time.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Okamoto lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Nakamara has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Nakamara and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Okamoto throws a low kick, looking for Nakamara's leg but Nakamara calmly moves out of range.
Okamoto lands a head kick. Nakamara smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Nakamara chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Okamoto can pounce on him.
Okamoto throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Okamoto throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Nakamara's head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nakamara tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Okamoto defends well and Nakamara ends up having to push Okamoto into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Okamoto throws a head kick but Nakamara moves out of range.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Okamoto.

Nakamara throws a big counter combination but Okamoto scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Okamoto stuns Nakamara with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Okamoto. Nakamara shrugs it off though.
Okamoto throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Nakamara.
A combination from Nakamara does no damage.

Okamoto tries a low kick but Nakamara avoids it.
Nakamara changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Okamoto controls Nakamara momentarily but Nakamara frees himself.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nakamara postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Okamoto throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Nakamara fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Okamoto avoids it really well and circles away.

Okamoto stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Okamoto wants it to stay on the feet.

Okamoto walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Nakamara checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Nakamara ducks under a wild hook from Okamoto.
As Okamoto looks to move away, Nakamara throws a big counter combo bu Okamoto just gets out of the way.
Okamoto wants to land a leg kick but Nakamara is out of range.
Okamoto misses with a low kick.
Okamoto throws a sloppy head kick and Nakamara moves out of range easily.
Okamoto throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Nakamara shoots in and gets a takedown into Okamoto's guard.

Nakamara got a little sloppy there for a moment and Okamoto has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nakamara has managed to get both his arms back between Okamoto's legs - danger averted.

Okamoto throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Nakamara swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hiroyuki Okamoto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Okamoto has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nakamara can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Okamoto fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Nakamara has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Hiroyuki Okamoto spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
