Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nathaniel White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clam Chowder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clam Chowder has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nathaniel White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Clam Chowder!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Chowder.
Clam Chowder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chowder shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Chowder was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
White is looking to get back to his feet here but Chowder is keeping cool and he's managed to take White's back.
White is trying to stand back up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
White staying busy and making it hard for Chowder to control.
White really is a fat lump.

Chowder looking to break White's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. White remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Chowder will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Chowder has the hooks in. White is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
White manages to reverse the position and now he's in Chowder's guard. Nice work there by White.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Chowder can do anything to dispel that myth.
White is stalling in the full guard.
Chowder is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Still in half guard, Chowder seems content to control.

Chowder decides to stand and escape the position.
Chowder keeps the fight on the outside.

Chowder pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Chowder changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. White looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
White is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Chowder has just dragged him back down to the mat.
White is looking to get back to his feet here but Chowder is keeping cool and he's managed to take White's back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chowder is trying to stick to White's back but White is turning into Chowder. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Chowder's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by White.
White might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Chowder is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
White stops Chowder from standing up.
Chowder controls White momentarily but White frees himself.

White controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
White cracks Chowder with a solid left hand.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


White closes the distance looking to clinch

and Chowder counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

White working for submissions but it's allowed Chowder to get to half guard.
Chowder looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

White has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Chowder is on him like a limpet, forcing White back against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with White in particular looking to stall.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

White is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Chowder is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
White won't allow Chowder to get back to his feet.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
White loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

A close second round but Clam Chowder will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Chowder has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. White is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Chowder has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. White avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Nathaniel White has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clam Chowder.
Chowder is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but White is keeping busy.
Chowder takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Chowder shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts White as he jumps to the side.

White tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Chowder is working for takedown but White is calmly controlling the position for now.
White is defending well against a takedown attempt.

White scoring with punches to the head and body.
White throwing strikes from guard but Chowder blocks nicely.
White not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
White slaps away a takedown attempt from Chowder, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Chowder gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
White pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Clam Chowder comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Chowder winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
