Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Karl Roosevelt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tatton Chantry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roosevelt comes to the cage accompanied by Soulfly - Pain. Karl Roosevelt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Karl Roosevelt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tatton Chantry! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roosevelt keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
It looks like Tatton Chantry has been cut. Chantry fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Roosevelt, pushing him back against the cage. Chantry successfully pulls guard.
Chantry is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Roosevelt wants to pass the guard but Chantry is keeping the position. Roosevelt slips nicely into half guard. Chantry is trying to control but can't.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chantry controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Roosevelt prevents Chantry from improving his position. Chantry looking for a kimura from the bottom but Roosevelt passes into side control!

Roosevelt happy to just control the position for now. Chantry is looking for a sweep. Chantry is trying to control Roosevelt's posture but Roosevelt avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Chantry is not content to let Roosevelt control the position. Chantry is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Roosevelt trying to control the action but Chantry is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roosevelt controls the position from side control. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Chantry is trying to control Roosevelt's posture but Roosevelt avoids it.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Roosevelt tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chantry swats him away and circles back towards the center. Roosevelt throws a leg kick but Chantry sees it coming and moves out of range. Roosevelt just misses with a punch to the body.

Roosevelt throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chantry on the side of the head. Chantry shoots in looking for a takedown but Roosevelt manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Chantry's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Roosevelt tries to counter by clinching up but Chantry breaks away and moves out of range. Roosevelt fails with an attempt to clinch.
Roosevelt throws a body punch but Chantry moves out of range. Roosevelt throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roosevelt scores with a hook to the body. Chantry takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Chantry shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Roosevelt pinned against the cage. Roosevelt gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Roosevelt comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Roosevelt throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Karl Roosevelt dominated that round. The cut man is working on Tatton Chantry's cut. That's time! Roosevelt's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Chantry shoots for a double leg takedown but Roosevelt sprawls well. He's pushed Chantry's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Roosevelt half committed to a counter leg kick. Roosevelt misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Roosevelt throws a head kick that misses. Chantry has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Roosevelt. Roosevelt misses with a right hand and Chantry counters with a takedown into side control. Chantry working away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chantry throws a strike aimed at the side of Roosevelt's head but Roosevelt avoids it well. Chantry working away. My spies in Montreal Fighter's Gym (4.5* Sparring) inform me that Chantry has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Chantry in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roosevelt is looking to regain half guard here but Chantry keeps moving and retains side control. Roosevelt takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Roosevelt tries to get back to half guard but can't. Chantry looks up at the clock and then as Roosevelt takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Chantry smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Chantry cracks Roosevelt with a solid left hand. Chantry throwing strikes from guard but Roosevelt blocks nicely. Chantry loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Chantry passes Roosevelt's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Tatton Chantry has got the better of the ground game so far. Chantry throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Chantry missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Chantry is looking to advance position but Roosevelt won't allow it. Roosevelt is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Chantry scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roosevelt is refusing to be controlled, as Chantry sits in half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roosevelt regains full guard. Nicely done. Roosevelt tries to land a sweep but no joy. Chantry distracts Roosevelt with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Chantry has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Chantry throws a big elbow that misses. Roosevelt working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Chantry. Chantry connects with a couple of short punches. Chantry is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Chantry throws an elbow that misses. Roosevelt uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Chantry's guard. Nice move by Roosevelt!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Roosevelt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Chantry has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roosevelt has managed to get both his arms back between Chantry's legs - danger averted. Roosevelt is stalling in the full guard. Roosevelt trying to control but Chantry is working from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Chantry will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Roosevelt falls off balance throwing a combination
and Chantry counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Chantry manages to regain half guard. Good work. Roosevelt wants to pass to mount but Chantry is defending the position.
