Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samuel Alvarado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kong Do Tahn! The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Ben Watson and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Do Tahn gets a clinch. Alvarado keeps control of Do Tahn as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Alvarado has Do Tahn pressed against the cage, preventing Do Tahn from circling away and getting back to striking at range. A frustrated look appears on Do Tahn's face as he tries to break the clinch. Do Tahn tries to break free but Alvarado pushes him back against the cage. Alvarado goes for a takedown in the clinch but Do Tahn prevents it.
Alvarado has Do Tahn pressed against the cage, preventing Do Tahn from circling away and getting back to striking at range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alvarado slows down the pace here.
Alvarado jumps guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alvarado has his feet on Do Tahn's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Do Tahn throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Do Tahn throws a head kick that half lands.
Do Tahn misses with a double jab.
Do Tahn throws a lazy head kick and Alvarado counters by moving into the clinch. Alvarado gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Alvarado is figuring out what he wants to do next. Alvarado will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Do Tahn looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alvarado is trying to work for a kimura but Do Tahn is defending well.
