Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jed Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Serano Lukowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul comes to the cage accompanied by Fueled -Anthrax. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jed Paul!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Serano Lukowski!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Paul closes the distance and clinches.
I was talking to Paul's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

It looks like Serano Lukowski has been cut.
Lukowski leaves Paul with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Paul throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Lukowski is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Paul is aware though and is defending well.
Lukowski can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Paul controls the pace.
Paul postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Paul has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Lukowski isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Paul stacks Lukowski on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Paul!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paul cracks Lukowski with a big right hand but Lukowski just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Paul creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Lukowski sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Paul swings around for an armbar but Lukowski sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Paul's guard.
Paul seems keen to control Lukowski's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paul is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Lukowski wants to pass the guard but Paul is keeping the position.
Lukowski looking to sit in guard and control but Paul gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lukowski is looking for a triangle but Paul pushes his legs off easily.

Lukowski has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Paul is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Lukowski.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Paul is looking for submissions but instead, Lukowski has regained full guard.

Paul postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lukowski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Paul, into his guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

As Paul backs off Lukowski throws a huge counter combo but Paul manages to avoid it all.
Paul slips a jab and a cross from Lukowski.
No joy there for Lukowski, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Paul scores with a hook to the body. Lukowski takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

That kick from Paul tenderised Lukowski's leg. Lukowski is trying to keep his angry face on.

Paul closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lukowski's guard.

Lukowski has momentary wrist control but Paul slips an elbow through the middle.

Paul wants to get up but he can't break Lukowski's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Paul won't allow Lukowski to sweep him here.

Lukowski working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Paul doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Paul manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Paul stands up and waves to Lukowski to follow him.
Lukowski takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Paul fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lukowski with the counter takedown but Paul avoids it easily.

Paul pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lukowski misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lukowski ducks right into an uppercut from Paul.
Paul closes the distance but Lukowski moves to the side
and Lukowski counters with a series of strikes. Paul will be more careful next time no doubt.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lukowski lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Paul.

That's time! Paul's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Paul shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Paul was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Paul lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Lukowski down.
Lukowski is still in real trouble! Can Paul finish him?
Paul lands a strong strike to the head of Lukowski. That's dazed him! Paul looking to finish here. Lukowski is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Paul lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
