The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez shoots in looking for a takedown. Jones tries to sprawl out of it but Gonzalez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jones manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
A left and a right from Jones both land. Nice combination.
Jones jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Gonzalez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Jones.
Gonzalez attempts a counter takedown but Jones avoids it well and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Mike Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gonzalez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jones sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gonzalez somewhat.

Gonzalez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jones defends well and Gonzalez ends up having to push Jones into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Gonzalez wants to pass the guard but Jones is defending well.
Gonzalez is nestled in close to Jones, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Gonzalez seems to be looking for submissions.
Gonzalez is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Jones is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
