Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryan Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Thomas!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chan just misses with a punch to the body.
Chan misses with a looping left.
Chan jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Chan connects with a looping right hand.
It looks like Ryan Thomas has been cut.
Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch but Chan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Chan drops Thomas with a left and a right! Oh, Thomas is hurt - Chan dives into side control looking to finish!
Thomas is rocked!
Thomas trying to control but Chan flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Thomas is still in real trouble! Can Chan finish him?
Chan somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Thomas seems to have recovered his senses.
Chan trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Thomas doesn't escape.
Thomas trying to control the action but Chan just sinks the hooks in.

Thomas tries to escape but Chan has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Chan controlling the positon.
I really don't envy Thomas right now.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Thomas is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Chan.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Johnny Chan just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Thomas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Chan tries to avoid it but Thomas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Chan to the ground. Chan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Thomas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Chan is fending him off so far but Thomas persists. Nope, Chan circles away and we're back to standing.
Johnny Chan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Thomas looks gassed!
Chan throws a right and a left that Thomas avoids nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Ryan Thomas's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Chan works over Thomas's head and body with a nice combination.
Ryan Thomas is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Thomas ducks under a wild hook from Chan.
Thomas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Chan swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Chan displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Chan jabs at Thomas's body.
Thomas gets cracked there but stands up to it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chan is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Thomas flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Thomas is out cold! Chan holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
